In October 2012 Wrexham Football Club sadly lost a great friend in Steve Edwards, who had not only supported the club for years, but had also served it admirably as a commentator with the Supporters Association’s broadcast team.
His widow Wendy wished to do something to commemorate his commitment to the club and with the help of his commentary colleagues introduced the Steve Edwards Goal of the Season Trophy. The first winner, with an appropriately brilliant strike against Barrow, was Jay Harris.
In 2013-4 it was Andy Morrell who picked up the trophy after a fine volley against Forest Green Rovers.
The winner in 2014-15 was Mark Carrington for the spectacular diving header which gave us the lead in the FA Cup at Premier League Stoke City.
