We travel to Aldershot short on clean sheets but having also scored in 16 consecutive league games, our second longest run in the National League. Our last goalless draw was at Aldershot last December, 36 games ago, so perhaps something’s going to give.
The last time we kept one clean sheet in our first eleven games was 2007, and we’ve haven’t achieved just one in our first ten league matches since 2001.
That goalless draw at Aldershot last December was a disappointment as we dominated the game and ought to have won, but it brought to an end a worrying run at The Recreation Ground. The two previous seasons we suffered 2-0 defeats there, but in both cases were overrun by The Shots, who ought to have scored more.
Our last win there came in November 2015, when Wes York scored the only goal. The only time we’ve won there by a margin of more than one goal was in September 1969, when Albert Kinsey opened the scoring and Arfon Griffiths converted a penalty as we kicked off what turned out to be a promotion campaign.

Luke Summerfield makes his 50th Wrexham appearance today.
You can listen to live commentary of the match online on Wrexham’s Mixlr channel, and I’ll be posting my #WxmTrek video on the club’s YouTube channel so you can travel to Aldershot with me!
