PREVIEW: Bromley FC v Wrexham FC

Wrexham defend their unbeaten record on the opening day of the season in the National League in Kent tomorrow with a tough trip to newly-promoted Bromley.

Bromley go into their first ever season in the Conference Premier with 8 pre-season friendlies under their belts, including 2-2 draw with Millwall, a 2-1 loss at home to Gillingham and a 6-0 loss to Premier League Crystal Palace.

With a tough season predicted ahead of them they have brought in 6 new players. Alex Wall, Max Porter and Lee Minshull among the new additions.

Bromley come to the Conference Premier as Conference South Champions finishing the season on 77 points, 2 points ahead of play off winners Boreham Wood, only losing 9 games all season. Their top goalscorer was Moses Ademola who scored 15 goals.

Anthony Cook: Cook is a winger who has had vast playing experience in non-league. He has had long spells at Chelmsford and Ebbsfleet. As a youngster Cook appeared on Sky 1’s Football Icon where he finished 4th after he picked up an injury. Shortly after this he had trials at Tottenham and Cardiff City. He earned a contract at Cardiff but never made an appearance. He then went to a few more clubs but didn’t get first team football until he joined Chelmsford where he played 113 games scoring 30 goals from the wing. He also played for Ebbsfleet appearing 66 times scoring 14 times.

Lee Minshull: Minshull is a new signing at Hayes Lane and his experience will be key. He was part of AFC Wimbledon team who won promotion after beating Luton Town on penalties. He was also part of the Newport County team who beat Wrexham in the play-off final.

Max Porter: The 28 year old midfielder joined ex-teammate Lee Minshull at Hayes Lane to add to the experienced midfield. He was part of the Newport team who won promotion in the play-off final against Wrexham. He also played with Minshull at AFC Wimbledon in League Two.


Moses Ademola: Ademola was Bromley’s top goal scorer last season, scoring 15 goals. He will be the danger man for Bromley next year as he will be eyeing up the top goalscorer prize once again in Bromley colours. He has also played for Woking where he scored 29 goals, so he is someone to look out for next season.
